How To Remove Powered By Blogger Attribution

Blogger is the most popular blogging platform. However, its Templates contains an official Attribution which shows that the blog is the product of Blogger.

If you want to give a professional look to your Blogger blog, then it is recommend to remove the “Powered by Blogger” Attribution. It is not mandatory but it will leave a positive impact on your visitors which is quite important for any blogger.

Powered by blogger link is optional to keep in your blog. You can remove it if you don’t want to give credit to blogger. There are so many ways to remove this attribution widget but I am sharing the easiest one.

By default the attribution gadget is locked, means you can’t directly remove it like you do with other gadgets because the remove is missing while you try to remove it by edit option. So, here is the key to unlock it and add a remove button in the gadget edit box. Follow these steps:
  • Go to Blogger Dashboard & click on template.
  • Backup your blogger template before doing any changes.
  • Click on Edit HTML button.
  • Click inside the template, Press Ctrl+F and search the below code.

<b:widget id=’Attribution1′ locked=’ true’ title=” type=’Attribution’/>

Now change the red colored true, to false. Once you change the code will look like this:

<b:widget id=’Attribution1′ locked=’false‘ title=” type=’Attribution’/>

  • Save your template.
  • Now Go to layout and find the attribution widget.

  • Click on edit link and press the remove button.

Done!

I tried my level best to make this tutorial as easy as possible. If you are still facing any kind of issue, Feel free to ask me via comments. Thanks!
