How To Create Static "Home Page" In Blogger

There's always an unusual case where you want to create a Blogger blog with a static home page instead of the reverse order blog posts. Though this isn't a typical configuration for Blogger, but the recent changes in the new layout editor have made this easier than ever.

1. Creating Static Home Page:

The first step starts by clicking on "Pages" and then selecting the "New Page" option. You'll now be in the Page editor. At the top, enter a page name such as "Home Page" and press "Publish".

Now, you've created a static page.

2. Redirecting Original Home Page To Static Page:

  • Now go to the blogger "Settings" and click  "Search Preferences"
  • Click Edit on "Custom Redirect"
  • In the "From box" enter only a forward slash "/". In the "To box" enter the static page URL - in our case it was "/p/home-page.html".
  • Now press the "Save" link and then the "Save changes" button.
What's now going to happen is that your main URL will redirect to the static page you've created. Try to access your blog now - you should go directly to the new static page from the main URL.

3. Hiding Original Home Page:

Now when you click on either Home or Home Page you're going directly to your new static page. What you have to do at this point is hide the original "Home Page".
  • Open Blogger "Layout" and edit "Pages"
  • Be sure to un-tick the check box right next to the "Home" & Press "Save".

You're done! For any query or questions just mention them below in comments.
