How To Remote Log Out From Facebook & Gmail

If you logged into your Facebook or gmail account on your friend’s laptop or on a PC in your office and now you can’t quite remember if you ultimately logged out.

This is not good for you Because if you didn’t log out of that other PC completely, the next person who visits Facebook or gmail on that system may end up logged in as you, with complete access.

Luckily, it’s easy to quickly log out of any and all open sessions on any computer, whether it’s the Mac on your desk or a PC at the office. So, here you go:

Facebook:

Have you ever borrowed a friend’s phone to use Facebook and then forgotten to log out before you handed it back? Maybe you logged in from a public computer, but accidentally walked away with your Facebook session still active.

Now, you can see if you’re still logged in on other devices and immediately log out on those devices. You can try it by clicking on the tiny gear sign on the top right of the page, go to 'account settings' and then to 'security' on the left pane. Under 'security settings', click on 'active sessions'.

There, you’ll see all of your active sessions along with information about each one. That information includes the login time, device name if you’ve previously named it through the login notifications feature, the approximate location of the login based on IP address, and browser and operating system.

In the unlikely case that someone accesses your account without your permission, you can shut down the unauthorized login before resetting your password and taking other steps to secure your account and computer.

Gmail:

Gmail includes a feature that shows all your account activity on different computers and devices. You can also use this tool to remotely sign out of any Gmail sessions on other computers and keep your account more secure.

To see your account activity, sign in to Gmail on the Web from your home computer and scroll down to the bottom of the page. On the right side, you should see a line that says “Last account activity” and lists the most recent time, when mail was checked on your account, along with a Details link.

Click the Details link to open a page listing all your account activity on different computers and mobile devices, including the Internet addresses used and the times the account activity occurred. If you see other locations where your Gmail account is active, click the “Sign out of all other sessions” button to log out everywhere else. It also shows you the details of your previous 10 accesses to the account.

If you still have doubts then feel free to comment below. Thanks :)
