It has not yet come to the point where YouTube has put adverts on all of its videos. They are on quite a few of them, but they have not yet become intolerable. Therefore, YouTube is still a pretty good network, and the amount of contributors means that it has not yet been over commercialized.
1. Blinkx.com
With having 35+ Million hours of videos, Blinkx Videos comes out to be one of the powerful Alternative to mega video channel, YouTube. Just Sign up with Facebook or Twitter and now you can watch videos for free without facing any problem.
The website is fast and provides you better categorical video search. You will also be able to check the latest Video shared by your friends on Facebook and Twitter.
2. Metacafe.com
It is an alternative because it looks and acts as if it is trying to be YouTube, however, the amount of advertising makes it hard to traverse and loading times are probably being held up because if it. The user interface is nicely designed, but it has a long way to go if it ever wants to compete with YouTube.
3. Vimeo.com
This site has existed as long as YouTube, but has never really caught on as much as YouTube did. Perhaps it is more to do with design, loading times or the interface, but it never really took off in the same way that YouTube did.
4. Dailymotion.com
The site is good, and the interface is usable. The biggest complaint with this site is that it does not have enough videos on it. They are also not as fond of removing videos as YouTube is. This is a good and bad thing, as at least with YouTube the spam is removed.
5. Hulu.com
This is supposed to be a site that is just for people in the USA, but the channel videos keeps slipping in the hands of people from the UK. This may be because the channel is trying to expand, or it may be because of third party streaming. Whatever the reason is, a lot of US citizens enjoy Hulu because it is better at showing full episodes of shows than YouTube is.
6. Blip.tv
This is a very simple and easy to use video sharing network, and you may even make money through affiliate adverts on the site. It is not a bad system and would have ranked a lot higher if it were not for the fact that it forces you to take your ad-blocker offline otherwise it will not show you the videos.
7. Veoh.com
You have to install its software in order to download videos. But, the fact that you are able to download the videos means that it is one better than YouTube. It also means that you do not have to keep going online to see the videos because you can store them locally.
